Benevolent Help to Our Community
At Mt. Vernon Christian we take helping those in need in our community seriously. We model our benevolent ministry from the ministry of Jesus. Jesus not only helped those in need physically, but spiritually as well. If you are in need of help we are here for you. We will seek to help all those in need who are open and honest with us about their situation and who are willing to accept spiritual help.

Jesus said, "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’" Mt. 25:35-36

We do have guidelines we follow when helping others in order we help those who are truly in need.

Some of those guidelines are...

-
We are willing to help once before church attendance.
-
Will not help again until those being helped have attended church.
-
We will not give out cash to anyone. We pay bills directly.
-
We will help those who live in Lawrence County.
-
All those seeking help must fill out the Benevolence Questionnaire and turn it in to the church office. You can print the questionnaire out below or get one at the church office.
